📄 Application Process & Eligibility

Applications must be submitted online only by 29 August 2024. Candidates can modify applications between 30 August and 8 September 2024 by paying ₹250. Each candidate can apply to only one RRB and one common application. Eligibility is provisional and subject to document verification. CSC centers can be used for submission. Scribe facility available for eligible PwBD candidates. Exam medium: English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages.

📄 Examination & Selection

The selection process involves two stages of Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and medical examination. Shortlisting for the 2nd CBT is typically at 15 times the vacancy count. Marks will be normalized. Negative marking applies at 1/3rd per wrong answer.

📄 Shortlisting & Merit Calculation

Shortlisting for DV is based on normalized marks from the 2nd CBT. A Merit Index is calculated using a formula considering raw/normalized marks, qualifying marks (40 for UR), and mean marks of the top 0.1% or 10 candidates. A combined merit list across disciplines is prepared for post allotment.

📄 Medical Standards & PwBD Suitability

Candidates must meet prescribed medical fitness standards. Visual acuity standards vary by category (A-3, B-1, B-2, C-1). LASIK surgery makes candidates ineligible for Medical Standard A-3. Ex-servicemen have different standards. Specific posts require Medical Standard B1 (Chemical/Metallurgical Supervisors), C1/A3/B2 for various Junior Engineer roles. PwBD suitability varies: OL/DW/AAV for most JE posts; OL/DH/HH for Electrical JE; OL for Metallurgical Supervisor. No PwBD suitability for Chemical Supervisor.

📄 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

CBT-I: 90 mins (120 for PwBD), 100 questions (Math, Reasoning, GA, Gen Science). CBT-II: 120 mins (160 for PwBD), 150 questions (GA, Physics/Chem, Computers, Environment, Technical). Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS 40%, OBC 30%, SC/ST 25%. Virtual calculator provided for CBT-II. Civil & Allied JE Syllabus: Engineering Mechanics, Building Construction & Materials, Concrete Technology, Surveying, CAD, Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulics, Irrigation, Structural Mechanics & Design, Transportation & Highway Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Advanced Construction, Estimating/Costing, and Contracts.

📄 Reservation & Eligibility Criteria

Vertical reservation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS with specific certificates. Horizontal reservation for Ex-SM & PwBD. EBC candidates get fee concession only, not job reservation. Minority candidates need affidavit. NOC required for govt/PSU employees. PwBD candidates get 20 mins compensatory time per hour.

📄 Document Verification & E-Call Letter

Candidates must submit original documents (Matriculation, 10+2, Degree/Diploma, category certificates, NOC, etc.) at DV. E-call letters are downloaded from RRB websites ~4 days before CBT. SC/ST candidates get free sleeper class travel authority on e-call letter. Valid photo ID is mandatory at exam center.
